THE REAL REASONS FOR BODY SCANS AND PATDOWNS

Washington tells you it invades your privacy at the airport in order to protect you from terrorists who might pack explosives in their shoes, socks and underwear.

Unfortunately, the highly submissive American public has been conditioned over decades to play omega dog to Washington's alpha dog.

You have been told that your choice is between submitting to the Government's wishes or being blown up.  And trusting souls that we are, we believe those are our only two choices.

This pattern of government intrusiveness on our privacy is reflected all over Europe – Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, etc.  The West has succumbed to the false argument that you have only two choices: submit or be blown up.

But there is a third way, and it is practiced by Israel.

No nation on the face of the earth is as threatened as Israel, a political island surrounded by enemies which embrace terrorism.

Yet its El Al Airlines doesn't protect its customers by scanning and disrobing them.

Instead, it uses a tried and true (but politically incorrect) weapon known worldwide as profiling.  El Al focuses its attention on passengers from the countries which produce the overwhelming majority of terrorists – Pakistan, Somalia, Saudi Arabia and most of the Arab states.

Israel can do all these things because it is the only government in the world which is technologically advanced.  All of its intelligence services funnel information about travelers into a central source.  (Washington's been trying to achieve this since 9/11, over ten years ago).

When a name pops up as suspicious, El Al whisks the traveler out of the line and takes him or her to a room for an in-depth interview.  The passenger's passport is scanned for authenticity.  If these steps do not clear up suspicions, El Al is equipped to conduct an intensive background check.

America's and Europe's airlines are not able to do any of these things for two reasons:

1. In the name of political correctness, Washington and Europe would rather inconvenience the innocent than catch the terrorist.

2. The American and European governments are technologically incompetent. The West cannot seem to produce systems, lists and trained personnel to be effective in preventing terrorism.  (Actually, the West seems unable to spell the names of terrorists correctly – and there is no Google to ask "Did you mean to look up.....?")

America boasts Silicon Valley, which leads the world in technological competence.  Yet we tolerate a government which brings up the rear in the use of technology?

Israel, a nation of only seven million people, has solved the airline terror problem without inconveniencing its citizens.

How does Washington explain away that a nation of 330 million still lives in the Dark Ages?

News from Saudi Arabia makes this problem even more urgent.

It seems a terrorist attempted to assassinate a Saudi Prince by blowing himself up – with explosives tucked up his rectum.

The shoe bomber made us take our shoes off.

The underwear bomber made us take our clothes off.

What will the rectal bomber make us do?

Maybe it's time to fire the FBI, TSA and Homeland Security – and let the Israelis run our airport security.
